Paul Linder Paul Linder was first elected to serve on the Taft City Council in 2002 after having served as a Taft City Planning Commissioner for two years. He assumed the gavel as Mayor in December 2006 until December 2008. Councilman Linder has served on a number of boards and was Taft's representative to Kern COG for a couple of years and is currently serving on the Kern County Selection Committee. Councilman Linder has lived in Taft for the past 16 years, although he has been a West Kern County resident all of his life. Mr. Linder began his career working in Maintenance and Transportation when he worked for the Maricopa Unified School District from 1975-1984. He then moved to Taft Union High School where he was the Maintenance, Operations and Transportation Supervisor from 1984-2004. In 2004, Mr. Linder moved on to the position of Director of Transportation Services for the Kern County Superintendent of Schools. Mr. Linder's family consists of his wife, Rena, daughters Susan and Jennifer, and he is the proud grandfather to Maegan, Tori and Cade. He is a 15 year member of the Kiwanis Club of Taft and a member of Taft's Oildorado Planning Committee. Councilman Linder said "giving back to a community that has given me so much has been my goal. Community service and support has been enjoyable and fulfilling." |
