Susie Mears, a Certified Public Accountant, has been the Director of Finance for the City of Taft since 1995. Before coming to work at the city, Susie had worked in the private sector in retail, the medical field and for an accounting firm, where she has accumulated well over 25 years of experience in the accounting profession. Susie and her staff do an excellent job keeping our City running efficiently and protecting the taxpayers money.

The Buck Stops Here. . .

The Finance Department performs all the financial record-keeping and reporting for the City of Taft, TCDA, WWTP, and other agencies. The goal of the Finance Department is to provide accurate and timely financial information to the City Manager and the City Council so that they can make sound business decisions.

The Finance Department oversees the day to day revenue collection and processing, including but not limited to, Business License fees, Sewer and refuse fees, dog licensing fees, and loan payments from the Grant Programs offered by the City. As well as, accounts payable and payroll.

The Finance Department consists of two accounting clerks, one part time data entry clerk, an accountant, and the Director.
