The Public Works Department of the City of Taft is responsible for managing, coordinating, and maintaining the following operations and facilities: City-owned streets, alleys, parking lots, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, , traffic signage, legend painting, curb painting, street striping, storm drain system, sanitary sewer system, street lights, bridges, street sweeping, graffiti removal, vehicle and equipment maintenance, landscape, irrigation systems, janitorial duties, tree trimming, right of way permits, inspections, and capital improvements.
The duties of the Public Works Division include:
- Maintain all City-owned property.
- Make necessary improvements to City-owned properties as budget permits.
- Monitor public contracts.
- Respond to Public Request as possible
