USING THE DIAL-A-RIDE SERVICES
The Taft Area Transit offers Dial-A-Ride service. The Dial-A-Ride operates as a "shared ride" service with a fleet that includes sedans and buses.
Transit buses are equiped with wheelchair lifts and securing systems to better serve passengers who are physically challenged.
The Dial-A-Ride transit service provides door to door service in the greater Taft area including Taft, Taft Heights, Ford City and South Taft. The Dial-A-Ride service operates Monday through Friday from 7:15 A.M. to 8:15 P.M.
Dial-A-Ride services can be requested by calling 763-3822. The wait for the Dial-A-Ride is typically 10-30 minutes and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Individuals may make advance reservations for the Dial-A-Ride service. Reservations must be made at least 2 hours in advance and no more than 7 days prior to service.
GUIDE LINES
CARRY-ON PACKAGES
Limit carry-on packages to the size and number that can be handled easily. Strollers and carts must be folded before boarding the bus. For passenger safety, flammable liquids, batteries, hazardous chenicals, and poisonous plants are not permitted on the vehicles.
CHILDREN
Children are encouraged to use the bus service and are responsible for their own safety and conduct. Taft Area Transit requires that children under the age of twelve (12) MUST be accompanied by an adult.
ATTENDANTS
For safety reasons individuals utilizing the wheelchair lift service are encouraged to have an attendant ride with them. Individuals who are not self-sufficient, i.e., unable to utilize the system whitout assistance, are required to have an attendant.
SERVICE TO FELLOWS, DERBY ACRES, AND MCKITTRICK
Taft Area Transit makes trips to these areas on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The transit leaves Taft at 10:00 A.M. and agin at 3:00 P.M. Arrangements must be made 24 hrs. in advance.
