In 2018, Senate Bill 978 was signed into law, which took effect January 1st 2020. The law requires that all local law enforcement agencies (state agencies and private presenters are exempt) shall post on their internet websites all current standards of education and training materials, along with their agency policies and procedures.

The Taft Police Department Policy Manual is subject to modification as new laws and statutes are enacted. Also, with our ever changing political environment, court rulings determine how agencies will operate as a law enforcement authority. Our agency will actively revise our current policies on this website as related updates are applied.
